What to Expect We operate our programs in some of the most remote and isolated regions on earth, and participants on our departures should be aware that many of our destinations lack the infrastructure and comforts Westerners are accustomed to. Some of the benefits of traveling to areas less frequented are the proximity to wildlife, even at the lodges, camps, or hotels we may stay in, or the opportunity to experience the culture of the peoples we visit. To arrive at these destinations, though, travel can be somewhat strenuous, involving long bus rides over bumpy or unpaved roads or boat rides that require sitting for long periods. On Eco-Expeditions’s flight programs we fly from destination to destination, staying at unique accommodations in the new countries or regions we visit. Accommodations can range from elegant hotels in cities to rustic inns in more-remote areas. Weather or other unforeseen circumstances can cause delays or changes in our itineraries. All meals are generally included, as well as the excursions to the parks, museums, temples, ruins, or wherever we may be exploring on a particular program. Our goal is to make your time as enjoyable, educational, and relaxing as possible. Your leader takes care of all the daily details, from when and where meals will be eaten to the day’s itinerary. It is our policy to always use the very best accommodations, transportation, and services in the countries we visit. Our program managers can help you determine if a specific expedition is right for you.
